12 day Wildlife Tour of Ghana
	A 12 day wildlife tour of Ghana, visiting the Ashanti Kingdom, a monkey sanctuary, hippo sanctuary, Africa's only butterfly sanctuary, Mole National Park for elephants, traditional villages, the former slave castle at Cape Coast, and a birding hike at Kakum National Park. 	Arrival	Meet your arriving flight at Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
	Day 1	Safe transport to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle.
	Accra	Refresh and relax. Neighborhood or Accra city orientation as time permits.
		Overnight at an high-rise hotel in Osu.
		Accra City Tour
		Meet your guide at 8:30 AM and depart on guided tour of Accra.
	Day 2	Visit to Kwame Nkrumah Monument, Independence Square, Makola Market,
	Accra	historic Jamestown, W.E.B. Du Bois Center, fashionable Oxford Street in Osu.
		Overnight at an high-rise hotel in Osu.
		Bobiri Forest, Butterfly Sanctuary
		Depart metropolitan Accra for a scenic drive through the countryside.
	Day 3	Late afternoon hike at the Bobiri forest reserve and butterfly sanctuary.
	Ejisu	This is Africa's only butterfly sanctuary, which contains many native species of trees.
	4 hours	Overnight at a mid-range hotel in Ejisu.
		Ashanti Craft Villages, Monkey Sanctuary
		Morning depart to visit craft villages around Kumasi showcasing traditional crafts:
	Day 4	Kente weaving at Adanwomase, Adinkra cloth at Ntonso, carvings at Ahwiaa.
	Techiman	Late afternoon fun with the monkeys at the Boabeng-Fiema monkey sanctuary.
	3¾ hours	Overnight at a budget hotel in central Techiman.
		Drive Day, Rooftop Homes, Historic Mosque
		Long drive on ancient Islamic trade route. Visit a rooftop home at Senyon.
	Day 5	Late afternoon arrival in Wa, capital of the Upper West region.
	Wa	Visit to a 15th century mosque and possibly visit the village chief at nearby Nakori.
	5 hours	Overnight at a mid-range hotel in Wa.
		Hippo Sanctuary, Lobi Tribe, Mole National Park
		Early morning to the Wechiau Hippo sanctuary and canoe safari to the hippos.
	Day 6	Have a visit with the local Lobi tribe and socialize with friendly people.
	Mole	Arrive at Mole National Park in time for the afternoon safari walk (15:30 to 17:30).
	6 hours	Overnight at a budget lodge in Mole National Park.
		Mole National Park, Mognori Cultural Village, Afternoon Safari Walk
		Morning game viewing walk at Mole National Park (6:30 to 8:30).
	Day 7	Poolside at Mole Lodge after enjoying a performance at Mognori Cultural Village.
	Mole	Afternoon safari drive to find elephants and other mammals at Mole National Park.
		Overnight at a budget lodge in Mole National Park.
		Driving Safari, Ancient Mosque
		Driving safari at Mole with a specially trained park ranger.
	Day 8	This is a 2-hour driving safari (as opposed to the morning and evening walks).
	Mole	Visit the ancient Sudanese style mud-and-stick mosque at Larabanga.
		Overnight at a budget lodge in Mole National Park.
		Mole National Park, Craft Market, Flight to Accra
		Morning walking safari at Mole National Park. Watch out for the baboons!
	Day 9	Quickly depart for Tamale. Craft market in Tamale before your flight to Accra.
	Accra	Be met at the domestic flight terminal upon your return to Accra.
	3 hours	Overnight at a mid-range hotel in Tesano.
		Posuban Shrine, Cape Coast Castle, Beach Relax
		Mid-morning departure west along the coast to the city of Cape Coast.
	Day 10	Visit an elaborate Posuban shrine, commemorating an Asafo community group.
	Elmina	Tour the U.N. World Heritage Site and former slave dungeon of Cape Coast castle.
	3½ hours	Overnight at a 3-star beach resort in Elmina.
		Kakum Birding (no canopy walkway), Crocodile Pond, Culture Performance
		Hike with a birding expert through the 3 different ecosystems of the Sun Bird Trail
	Day 11	at Kakum National Park: rainforest, a secondary forest and pond environment.
	Elmina	Crocodile ponds and weaver bird community. Special evening cultural performance.
		Overnight at a 3-star beach resort in Elmina.
		Accra Return, Last Minute Shopping, Traditional Blessing, Departure
	Departure	Morning departure for Accra, visiting sites along the way as time permits.
	Day 12	Visit a craft market, or Trashy Bags, where recycled plastic is crafted into accessories.
		Walking tour of the Kisseman urban ghetto. Traditional blessing for safe journey.
	3½ hours	Safe delivery to airport 2 hours before your evening flight.
